Whether you work shifts or are just trying to get the little ones to sleep on a Summer’s night, Blackout blinds are sometimes an essential choice for the bedroom.
There are a number of options available, from free-hanging fabrics to enclosed frames that provide almost total darkness.
You’re not limited by style either as Roller, Vertical, Venetian and Pleated blinds all offer varying degrees of light blockage.

There are quite a wide range of Roller blind fabrics with a blackout backing and in some cases backings can be added to standard or dimout fabrics.
Some Pleated and Vertical and Venetian blinds also come with blackout backings although it should be notes that there can be leakage around the edges of vertical and Venetian blind slats.
Perfect Fit Frames
Perfect Fit frames can be installed to most UPVC doors and windows.
The picture-frame type edgings keep the fabric enclosed so although not a full blackout system, they can cut down on a lot of light leakage.
Many pretty roller and pleated fabrics can be installed in Perfect Fit frames.
Velux frames offer a true blackout system, with a wide range of beautifully coloured and patterned fabrics available, including their official Disney range.
Although suitable for all windows, Velux are an ideal solution for loft rooms since the blinds can be angled while the fabric remains taut, to prevent light leakage.
